the busyness and the blessing

Well it's been an exciting couple of days!! I just got hired at Campus Crusade for Christ. As of July 16 I will be the admin. assistant in the Marketing and Communications Department!! It's been a long road of job hunting and random interview as I tried to discern what God wanted for me for employment as of July but now it is over and I am very excited about going to Crusade. I think its an awesome ministry and it will be a really great place for me to grow, creativley and administratively. If you're mocking me for my jump from one type of work to another... don't. It's really an awesome oppurtunity and something that God has been preparing me for in His own unique way, just because that meant schooling for something completley different, doesn't mean I am flaky or that this is an ubsurd choice!
Sarah also came home this week which was AWESOME!! It was so wonderful to see her beautiful, tanned face back in Langley and to here all her amazing stories. I also got to go on a little canoe trip with the grade 11 PE class. We had wonderful weather and it was a really great time of fellowship with Matt and Jesse (the PE duo) but my arms are still recovering from the double canoe and I have yet to find my good attitude about the whole situation. Just ask Danielle, Tuesday night (a whole 4 DAYS LATER) I could still have a good rant about having to canoe it all twice! ... ahhh disciplining high schoolers - not my thing!!
And the last exciting thing to happen this week hasn't quite happened yet.... SAM GRADUATES TONIGHT!! My petite souer is off to the real, big world! We are so proud of her and cannot wait to celebrate with her...

... on a random, parting note - today I got a card that someone at church had given my mom for me. I thought it was just a thank you card from a friends wedding but it was actually a gift certificate to the KEG!!! Our friends Adam and Susan had just decided to bless us and show some love and I think its the coolest thing ever. Not only do I love getting random gifts when its not my birthday but it just reminds me that we are so loved and supported by those around us, this is what living in community is all about, not giving gift certificates necessarily, but, loving on each other! I think its very counter-cultural (my new favorite adjective thanks to Janice).
